Living in a small town, I share my life with my husband Russell (married in 1977), five children (one still at home), and six cats (one indoors, the others outside).

I teach an online class called “The Christmas Notebook” which is about all things holiday prep. The many facets of celebrating Christmas comprises one of my favorite hobbies. Other favorite things include gardening, reading, cooking, and scrapbooking.

it’s Christmas Notebook day!

Today is the beginning of the Christmas Notebook season! I teach the Christmas Notebook plan for holiday preparation on the yahoo group Christmas Notebook. It helps members organize preparation for the holidays so they have more time in December to celebrate the season with friends and family. It walks them through each stage of holiday […]

celebrating 25 years

On July 25, DH celebrated 25 years of practicing medicine (family practice). His office gave him a surprise party, which really did surprise him. 🙂 The table was covered with pictures taken over the years of practice…not only the practice of medicine, but the practice of practical jokes, funny costumes, fun, and frivolity. Dennis commented, […]

mission team

DH got up early Saturday morning to see the mission team off at 5:00. This is the third team our church has sent this year. In January, we went to New Orleans, Louisiana, and had the privilege of drywalling Gloria’s home. Earlier this month, a team went to Atlanta, Georgia, to aid in community assistance, […]

menu plan monday / july 7

After a hectic but happy week of having six other people in the house, we are back to our usual routine of cooking for three. We have some busyness this week as well, that needs to be figured into the menu. Monday / My sister and her dh are coming for supper and to “shop” […]

We had to say goodbye to DS and his family today, including the babies. 🙁 Unless I can swing a trip to their house before then, we won’t see them until October. ~~Rhonda
