Living in a small town, I share my life with my husband Russell (married in 1977), five children (one still at home), and six cats (one indoors, the others outside).

I teach an online class called “The Christmas Notebook” which is about all things holiday prep. The many facets of celebrating Christmas comprises one of my favorite hobbies. Other favorite things include gardening, reading, cooking, and scrapbooking.

it’s snowing in the kitchen

The snowflakes are up in the kitchen. Fifteen or so hang from the 12′ ceiling on mirrored strings and my snowflake ornament collection hangs on the window garlands. Hanging the ceiling snowflakes. Snowflake ornament collection. Looks so festive! ~~Rhonda 🙂

I am sure most of you are enjoying these crisp, sunny, autumn days. I certainly am. It’s time to get the last of the garden chores done before winter sets in. At the back door, the houseplants need to come inside. The papyrus plants are beginning to go dormant, though these plants haven’t had a […]

glorious sunshine

After almost two weeks of rain and clouds, the sun has finally made an appearance. Leaves blanket everything. The big oak behind the house is beautiful. I have been working on my Putz houses this week and they are coming along well. I’ve really enjoyed to the work. I just threw these on the tiered cupcake holder to give you an idea of what I have in mind. This is no where near the final look I’m going for. The stand […]

I’m planning to do more Christmas decorating and cookie baking this week. Have lots to do, but it’s fun. Monday chicken and rice corn / peas biscuits […]

putz houses

I’ve managed to make a couple of Putz houses. I want to make several more of these to put together in a little village display for Christmas. Here’s one I made a week or so ago. The pattern came from the web site Little Glitter Houses. Yesterday I tried my hand at a larger, more […]
