We’ve had a fun week of playing with the grands. It’s always wonderful to have the three girls here.

But, Sunday afternoon, our son and his family gathered up their belongings and moved into the farm house. We kept the twins for the afternoon and took them home in the early evening. We were still hearing, “I want to stay at Pa’s,” but on the way to their house, it turned into, “Will you stay at our house, Pa? Will you stay with us, Ma?” They haven’t figured out that we are now able to visit back and forth as often as we like. They were fine when we left for home, though. Seeing their own room with their own toys and the familiar furniture in the house was good for them. We’re looking forward to many more days of making rolls together, swinging in our back yard, and generally having fun being together.

Now we need to buckle down and get back into our Christmas prep schedule. We have company coming this week. They volunteered to help with Christmas decorating and I think we’ll take them up on that. I’m beginning to feel the pressure of being ready for the open house the first Sunday in December. With that in mind, the crock pot will get a work out this week. Such a great way to prepare a meal when there isn’t much time to spend on putting dinner on the table.
