The chocolate covered strawberries were delicious. I took about 30 pictures to get one I liked well enough to submit. No, I did not eat 30 chocolate covered strawberries…

Normally, I would submit up to five photos to Macro Mondays, but I was coming off a weekend of a stomach virus, and didn’t feel like taking more photos. Next week’s theme hasn’t been posted yet, but I’m looking forward to finding what it will be!

I took a picture of the Macro Mondays site, on my computer, with a sheet of vellum across part of the screen.

This is an older shot from our garden. The fragile delicacy of the iris petals fascinates me. It is amazing how well they stand up to wind and rain.

This is shredded gift wrap stuffing. It is so tiny that I didn’t know it was cut in a zigzag pattern until I took the picture.

For this picture, I opened a publishing program, filled a page with blue, and took a picture of the post-it notes in front of the computer screen.

Next week’s theme hasn’t been posted yet…I’ll be checking often to see what we’re shooting for next week!

Suburban keys / The sunlight shining through the prisms in the window added some pretty color to the shot.

Car trouble / Sometimes it’s handy to have kids’ toys around the house…they can make great props for photos.

I like the way the stream gradually turns into drops.

This one has drops in the middle, falling into a frothy splash.

My favorite shot is this water crown.

I took this picture while waiting for DD at riding lessons.

We have a small box full of old negatives from DH’s family. This one caught my eye. It was probably taken in Kansas. There must have been a circus going through. Someday, we’ll get these developed and see what we’ve got.

This shade of blue is my favorite color.

I like the light coming through this old green pitcher.

There is something about glass that I really like. Especially transparent colored glass.

The green light from the pitcher caused some pretty effects in the iced tea.

Fuzzy pipecleaners…I took this shot in the scrapbook room. I have drawers full of fun things the shoot.

These fuzzy fibers came from my scrapbook room drawers, too. Isn’t the sparkle great?

Love the colors and the sparkle on these fuzzy pompoms.

DH brought the foxtails in for me to shoot. I put them in a black tray and used a desk lamp to light them.

The wooly lamb’s ear was fun to shoot. I was at riding lessons with DD. While she and the trainers were on a trail ride, I picked the leaf and took some pictures for the flickr theme. I set it on my day planner for the black background and used the sun light to highlight the leaf’s detail. It was interesting to see how transparent the leaf was when the sun hit it from the back. All the veins became visible. That spot has as much fuzz on it as the left side where the sun hits it from the top of the leaf.

Macros are such fun. They bring to life amazing detail that usually goes unnoticed. ~~Rhonda
