toy store putz

I have been wanting to make a toy store Putz since January. Yesterday, I finally got around to it. I drew the pattern, then cut and constructed the Putz. I had the embellishments in my stash, so it was easy to put together.

The base measures 6 3/8″ wide x 3 1/2″ deep. The Putz is 4 3/4″ tall as measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the roof.

The base is made from an upcycled Christmas card. The colors on the card inspired the colors of the Putz.

When tilted, there’s the surprise of the card underneath.

The front of the shop is decorated with two bottle brush trees, gifts and toys. The gift packages are glass beads.

The trees are decorated with red beads, faux snow and iridescent glitter.

I designed the sign in MS Word and printed it on glitter paper. The photos don’t show how well the sign actually glitters.

I am always happy to answer questions about the process. Please ask, if you are wondering about the details of putzing!

All proceeds from my Etsy shop benefit Kenya Mercy Ministries. They work with the urban poor of Nairobi, Kenya, particularly the children and their families who live in Kibera, the largest slum in Africa. Thank you for your part in helping these children when you purchase items from my shop!
